If you’ve been following me on tumblr for any length of time, you will know that I try to be body positive. I don’t let people say mean things about others if I can help it and I always try to reblog body positive posts when I see them.
What does body positive mean, you ask? Well, it means that people are celebrated for their diverse range of shapes, sizes and so on instead of being shamed for them. If you weren’t being body positive, you might tell a larger person that they have to lose weight or tell someone with body hair that they have to shave. The idea behind body positive is that we let people do what they like with themselves because it’s actually none of our concern.
The reason that this is relevant to my lack of blogging is that I have become quite uncomfortable in my own skin. Instead of body positive, I have been quite body negative – but only against myself.
